Ava and Nadia are all about gymnastics, the month before we arrive back in Canada they are asking about gymnastics class, and the day we land they are ready to start, but there little bodies are not getting up at 7:00am to get ready for the class, so we must wait a couple of weeks, and when they do start there classes - LOOK OUT!!!

As some of you may know, my mom and dad are celebrating there 50th Wedding Anniversary on August 11th. The date of there actual Anniversary is November 2nd, but they are celebrating early so we can join them for the party. They are joking around that there relationship won’t make it till November that’s why there having the party early - hahahaha! They still have it after 50 years of marriage…

Anyways….. we had a great night the other night and had a wine and cheese party to taste some different wines to see what we are going to serve at the party. I think the pictures explain themselves.

I can’t wait - this is so exciting, now I don’t have to bring things back from BC or Beijing. Now all we need is a Safeway……

IKEA has decided to set up a new store in Dalian, Liaoning Province. The new store is scheduled to open in 2008.

According to the Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau of Xigang District in Dalian, IKEA has completed the registration for the Dalian store which has a registered capital of US$15.5 million. The total investment on this store will reach US$40 million.

A representative from Dalian IKEA says that IKEA Dalian store’s specific date of opening has not been fixed yet.

Founded by Ingvar Kamprad in Sweden in 1943, IKEA has now grown into the biggest household commodity retailer in the world with over 200 stores in 42 countries and regions. It mainly deals in household commodities, decorations and furnishings. IKEA now has three stores in China, which lie in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, respectively.

I just found out in a very strange way that I will be the new library assistant at Maple Leaf Internation School in Dalian, I went for an interview at the school a couple of days before returning to Canada, and the Principal had said that we had to pass it by the Head Librarian before he could give me a 100% guarantee about the job. I received a message on facebook from a friend of mine congratulating me on my new position - Yae! I’m excited..

I did hear a comment though that a librarian must be on the quiet side. Well I guess I can learn how to do that in a month or two.

Maybe I can change the world of Librarian’s???? All I can say is - please don’t ask me the author of a particular book!

Well today is the 20th and it was the day Bill was supposed to begin his fishing trip but things have not gone as planned. The Ocean Pearl is getting a bunch of work done to her including a paint job and the new departure date is unknown. 1 week? 2 weeks? 3weeks? Who knows?

I asked Bill if he was disappointed and he said a little but he is glad he gets to spend more time with family and friends. He said that his buddies in China, Craig Engleson and Tom Beeke would probably would be more disappointed for him than he was.

We will keep you posted.

Our little girl turns 7 today - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR SWEETHEART!

What a wonderful day we had yesterday celebrating Ava’s 7th birthday, we had our annual pizza in the park (minus the pizza). The sun was shining, the kids had a lot of fun playing in the waterpark, delicious food, and wonderful company to share our day with .

Ava has changed so much over the last couple of years, Bill and I are excited to see what she has in store for us in the future. One thing that has changed so much is that “She loves to talk” quoted by herself.
