Our Nadia is celebrating her 6th Birthday in Beijing on Wednesday, April 30th. We will be going to a restaurant called Afunti’s (There will be belly dancers dancing with snakes) after dinner some dancing on the tables to celebrate. Then on May 2nd she will have a birthday with all of her friends in China.

One thing I’m sure a mom never forgets is the day her babies are born. Nadia’s original due date was April 7th. We were celebrating my Dad’s birthday on this date. I was out to here………………………………………. with my belly, the party came and went and no baby. 23 days later she arrived pink and screaming.

Today she is a beautiful and lively 6 year old, with interesting stories to tell, and a very vivid imagination, and the word capricious comes to mind.

We love her very much, Happy Birthday Sweety Pie.

Here is a picture from a couple of years ago. Dora and Diego came to Willowbrook Mall in Langley, my mom was so sweet, she stood in line with 4 of her grandchildren. When we got to the front of the line, all 4 of them said that they didn’t want to go meet them. With much convincing, here’s the picture.

It always amazes me how anyone can finish an Ironman triathlon — 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles of biking and a marathon, 26.2 miles of running. It’s crazy!

On race day, April 20, 2008, participants in Ironman China will swim 3.9km in the South China Sea, cycle 180km through coastal and rural China, and run 42km through the parks and bridges of Hainan.

This is the back of one of the runners that will be in the ironman. She’s a bit camera shy. This is from the Greatwall Marathon last year.

A very cute joke.

A stranger was seated next to a little girl on the airplane when the stranger turned to her and said, ‘Let’s talk. I’ve heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger’. The little girl, who had just opened her book, closed it slowly and said to the stranger, ‘What would you like to talk about?’
‘Oh, I don’t know,’ said the stranger. ‘How about nuclear power?’ and he smiles.
‘OK, ‘ she said. ‘That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff - grass -. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?’
The stranger, visibly surprised by the little girl’s intelligence, thinks about it and says, ‘Hmmm, I have no idea.’
To which the little girl replies, ‘Do you really feel qualified to discuss nuclear power when you don’t know shit?
