When we returned back to China after the our holiday in B.C. Ava and her tutor (Paul Coffey) - yes named after the hockey player would have their tutoring lessons outside, what a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the great weather and some help with her homework.

Thanks Paul.

a nice place for a lesson

You can see them amongst the trees, this was taken from our balcony.

china, I can't believe it 9:58 am

I had plans to go to Beijing for the weekend during our break at the beginning of October, once the tickets were bought, I heard that Ava and Nadia had a school concert on the Sun. that I was gone.

I didn’t get too much information from the girls but this what I understand

Nadia needed to wear a beautiful dress and she wanted her Wedding dress - the dress she wore to Crissy’s wedding cause that’s the most beautiful dress she has, and all the other students in her class must still wear there uniforms. She told me that she was standing in front of the other students and moving her arms around. “Like a conductor?” I ask - shoulders come up in a shrugging motion - “sure”

Ava is a little bit more excited about this, but nervous at the same time. She needs to wear her red and black outfit but doesn’t think Daddy knows where it is, I told her I would lay it out for her and she could find it in the morning.
Ava was also VERY concerned about her hair, she had to wear it in two high ponytails on either side of her head and then they had to be wrapped around and tucked in,(kind of think Princess Leia) she said this with tears forming in her eyes that she wasn’t sure if Daddy knew how to do this hair style, I assured her that her daddy was full of surprises and he could do anything.
They both went to bed that night with a smile on their face, which made me happy cause I was catching the overnight train to Beijing that night.

According to the video that I saw - all went well. Hair was done, dresses were worn and they made it to school on time which was an hour earlier that normal - 7:15am

I am the conductor
This is Nadia at the front conducting her classmates to sing.

a dance and song and....
This is Ava singing her heart out - notice the hairdo.

listen to me please.
And this picture, she starts singing into the microphone and then joins the rest of her class singing a song.

Thanks to S & A for these pictures of the girls school concert.

I love everything about Christmas, the music, the tree, movies, wrapping, unwrapping, Santa and all the other great things that go along with this wonderful fun holiday.
A friend of mine told me that they were playing X-mas music at Starbucks the other day, I didn’t know whether I should run down to Starbucks to listen to it or turn on my Bing Crosby at home.

another great thing about Christmas is all the movies that come out this time of year - Adam Sandler, kids and a Christmas theme - 2008 is gonna by fun..

These are two movies that I am looking forward to seeing…

The Bathtub Test

During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director how do
you determine whether or not a patient should be institutionalized.

‘Well,’ said the Director, ‘we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a
teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub.’

‘Oh, I understand,’ said the visitor
‘A normal person would use the bucket because it’s bigger than the spoon or the teacup.’

bathtub

‘No’ said the Director, ‘A normal person would pull the plug.
Do you want a bed near the window?’
