Well the day is almost here - the long awaited trip to Canada - Mischa, Nadia and I are flying home tomorrow. Bill and Ava will follow soon, but not soon enough, they fly on the 4th of July.

I know it’s been a year, and I have updated the blog with lots of pictures throughout the year, but I thought I would post a couple more so you know who to look for coming through those gates.

This year I have been given the role of “THE PREZIDENT” of the prestigious growers club.

Every year there is a group of us that grow a plant, vegetable, or flower from seed.
In the past there has been - kale, sweet peas, and sunflowers
But this year since I was nominated prezident I decided to start with a already growing specimen. There are two reasons I did this -
1. There are no seeds in China
2. Most of the contestants are still dealing with frost, snow or heavy rainfall where they live, so I thought I would help everyone out and have something already started for them.

A few Fridays ago the parents were invited to come and watch there children during class.

The first class Mischa and I attended was Nadia - Chinese/English class, she knew all the answers and put her hand up for everything.
The second class was Ava’s exercise class, dancing, dancing and more dancing for over an hour, it wore me out just watching.

Then it was exercise break - a school march, this was absolutely fantastic.

Every May since 2004 our school goes through a little transformation and during that time conversations are consumed by the Dong Bei Cup. The Dong Bei Cup is a ball hockey tournament started by our friend C.E.
In its inaugural year 4 teams competed in a coed tourney. This last month included a student tourney (4 teams), an all male tourney (4 teams) and all female tourney (2 teams). The competition was intense and spirited and the player showed some amazing skill and athleticism. In the end, both Bill’s team and my team were victorious. Thanks to the organizers, competitors and referees.

Ava is very organized this year. She said that she doesn’t have any recent pictures of her and dad, and her and her mom, and would I mind taking a couple and then printing them off.

So these are the pictures we took, the next day Ava makes our mothers and fathers day cards and she glues these pictures on the cards that she made. She gave me mine on mothers day and she tucked Bill’s away till Father’s day.

So sweet.

Just down the road from our house is a clothes line (or fish line) that has various kinds of fish hanging from it.

I’m not sure if they sell it or just dry it to eat it.
